Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM (day shifts) and 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (night shifts); includes weekend coverage (weekend nights Fri/Sat; weekend days Sat/Sun). Block scheduling may be available; travelers are expected to meet a 4-shift-per-4-week weekend requirement and participate in the holiday rotation. Shift type: rotating

Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret telemetry continuously, including full cardiac rhythm interpretation for timely interventions
• Provide high-quality nursing care to a 1:4 patient ratio on a 31-bed telemetry unit
• Collaborate with hospitalist/intensivist teams and on-call resources to escalate care when needed
• Administer treatments and use CPAP/BiPAP per respiratory therapy orders
• Chart accurately in Cerner and manage medication workflows with Omnicell
• Float to support MedSurg, stepdown and occasional ICU or ER holds as unit needs require
• Respond to call/standby assignments promptly and be prepared to report within 30 minutes when called
• Participate in the unit holiday rotation and support continuity of care for high-acuity patients

Qualifications

• Current RN license valid for practice in California
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (telemetry experience preferred)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Comfortable and experienced reading/interpreting cardiac rhythms (Phillips telemetry preferred)
• Familiarity with Cerner charting and Omnicell medication systems
• Able to work 12-hour shifts, weekends and participate in holiday rotation
• Experience caring for telemetry/stepdown patients such as post pacer, new-onset AFib/RVR, hemodialysis patients and stroke/TBI monitoring

Education

• Active RN license (ADN, Diploma or BSN accepted)
• BSN is not required for submission

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Cerner electronic medical record proficiency
• Experience with Phillips telemetry systems
• CPAP and BiPAP management in collaboration with Respiratory Therapy
• Omnicell medication system familiarity
• Care for post-procedure telemetry patients, hemodialysis patients, wound care/bedsores and oncology monitoring
• Ability to prioritize, communicate with multidisciplinary teams and float across related units
