Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care consistent with hospital policies and professional standards
• Perform timely patient assessments and document findings clearly in the medical record
• Deliver evidence-based emergency and acute interventions, including stroke assessments using NIHSS
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and execute patient-centered care plans
• Maintain certification currency and complete Trinity specialty competency testing
• Adhere to infection control, immunization, and health screening requirements to ensure patient and staff safety
• Participate in unit-level quality improvement and clinical documentation to support excellent outcomes

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) — active license required
• Current BLS certification
• Current PALS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• TNCC certification
• Ability to perform NIHSS assessments
• License and certificate verification will be completed prior to start
• Successful completion of Trinity Skills Checklist and specialty competency testing
• Required health screenings and immunizations: 2-step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon), COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza vaccine, Varicella, Tdap, physical/health statement
• Negative Trinity 10 Panel Drug Screen and fit test as required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking for acute and emergency presentations
• Proficiency in stroke scale (NIHSS) and rapid recognition of neurologic changes
• Trauma nursing principles consistent with TNCC training
• Pediatric and adult life support skills (PALS, ACLS, BLS)
• Good documentation practices and experience with electronic health records
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient-family education skills
• Ability to learn and demonstrate Trinity specialty-specific competencies
