Surgical Technologist - Operating Room
Location: Spokane, WA
Start Date: 04-29-2026
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Per diem, 4-hour shifts (start/end times vary by surgical schedule), days vary, Day shift
Candidate Pay Rate: $29 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile field and surgical instruments with precision
- Assist the surgical team during procedures by anticipating instrument needs
- Ensure proper handling and tracking of surgical supplies and counts
- Communicate clearly with surgeons, nurses, and support staff to keep cases running smoothly
- Participate in orientation and training to uphold facility standards
- Document intraoperative activities and instrument usage accurately
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program or equivalent
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or obtainable upon hire
- Previous operating room experience preferred but new grads with strong training encouraged to apply
- Ability to pass required background checks and any facility screenings
- Strong teamwork, communication, and attention to sterile technique
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program
- High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
- Proven knowledge of sterile technique and OR protocols
- Familiarity with common surgical instruments, trays, and equipment
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced surgical environment
- Good communication skills and seamless collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Basic computer skills for documentation and case tracking
