Roles & Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
Provide crisis intervention and perform 5150 evaluations for involuntary psychiatric holds
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and discharge planning
Advocate for patients' mental health needs and connect them with community resources
Document clinical interventions and maintain accurate patient records

Qualifications

Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California - required
Current BLS certification - required
Must be 5150 certified in California (training and exam with 80% pass required)
Prior experience with Dignity Health or CommonSpirit facility strongly preferred
At least one year of recent social work experience in a psychiatric setting

Knowledge & Skills

In-depth knowledge of California mental health laws and 5150 procedures
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work with patients and teams
Ability to manage high-stress situations and provide empathetic care
Strong organizational and documentation skills
