Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to a diverse patient population including oncology, PCU, and med-surg cases
• Monitor and titrate drips such as heparin, cardizem, and insulin as needed
• Administer chemotherapy (preferred) and manage oncology patients from diagnosis through remission or end-of-life care
• Float to med-surg and PCU units as needed, ensuring continuity of care
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including PT/OT, case managers, social workers, and dietitians
• Use Epic EMR to document care and coordinate treatment plans
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment, and discharge planning

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of recent PCU, oncology, or med-surg experience
• Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• ONS/ONCC certification preferred
• Chemotherapy certification preferred
• Driver’s license required for radius verification
• Willingness to take an open-book pass/fail exam during orientation (90% required)
• First-time travelers welcome!

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong PCU, oncology, and med-surg nursing skills
• Experience with ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring (CVP, A-line, Swan, EV-1000)
• Proficiency with Epic EMR
• Ability to titrate common drips
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• Adaptability to float between units and patient acuities
