Location: Kearney, Nebraska

Start Date: 07-06-2026

End Date: 10-05-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM or 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM, self-scheduling with cyclic rotation, every other weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $62 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide exceptional nursing care to patients on a Med Surg/Ortho unit
Manage care for post-surgical patients including total knee and hip replacements
Administer pain medications, antibiotics, and blood products as needed
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Participate in patient education and discharge planning
Float to MedSurg, rehab, or PCU as needed based on acuity

Qualifications

Valid RN license in Nebraska
BLS certification required
Minimum 1 year of Med Surg/Ortho experience preferred
Ability to pass an open-book exam during orientation with 90% or higher

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of post-surgical care for ortho patients
Proficiency in pain management and IV therapy
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to titrate drips (not required but good to know)
Flexibility and willingness to learn
