Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to a diverse population including oncology, PCU, and med-surg patients
• Monitor and manage drips like heparin, cardizem, and chemotherapy medications
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including PT/OT, case managers, social workers, and educators
• Float to other med-surg and PCU units within the same level of care as needed
• Perform hourly rounding to enhance patient experience and safety
• Utilize EPIC for accurate documentation and communication

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of recent PCU, oncology, or med-surg experience required
• Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
• BLS and ACLS certifications required, ONS/ONCC preferred
• Chemotherapy certification preferred but not required
• First-time travelers welcome to apply
• Must live 50+ miles from the facility and not be employed by CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity
• Driver's license required for verification of distance

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in EPIC electronic medical records
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and hemodynamic monitoring (CVP, A-line, Swan, EV-1000) - training available
• Ability to titrate drips such as insulin and cardizem
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Comfortable caring for oncology patients from diagnosis to end-of-life care
