Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage ED and inpatient hold patient assignments to maintain safe nurse-to-patient ratios and appropriate acuity handling
• Assess, triage, and implement emergency interventions using ACLS/BLS/PALS standards
• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care during the night shift and coordinate handoffs with day teams
• Document patient care thoroughly and maintain up-to-date licensure and certifications
• Participate in Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and complete required skills checklists
• Ensure compliance with health screenings and fit testing requirements to maintain a safe clinical environment

Qualifications

• Active RN license (must be valid for practice in Connecticut)
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications
• Experience in Emergency Department nursing and managing inpatient holds/acuity is required
• Ability to safely manage ED and inpatient hold ratios during night shifts
• Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist as required
• Must meet health and screening requirements (fit testing, immunizations, drug screen, physical/health statement)

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing practices and ED workflows
• Inpatient holds management and patient acuity assessment
• ACLS, BLS, PALS clinical skills and emergency interventions
• Night shift triage, stabilization, and patient monitoring
• Familiarity with Trinity competency testing and skills checklist processes
• Respirator fit testing and occupational health compliance
