Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and manage ED and inpatient-hold patients with strong acuity-based prioritization
• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care during 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM day shifts
• Coordinate transitions of care between the emergency department and inpatient units
• Monitor and respond to changes in patient condition, escalating concerns appropriately
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and care plans accurately and timely
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing colleagues, and support staff to optimize patient flow

Qualifications

• Active RN license (license/certificate verification required)
• Current BLS required
• Current ACLS required
• Current PALS required
• TNCC certification required
• Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
• Required health records: Fit test/respirator evaluation, immunizations (Tdap, MMR, Hep B, Influenza, Varicella), PPD/IGRA, physical/health statement, and 10-panel drug screen
• Comfort and experience working ED and inpatient hold ratios/acuity (Emergency Nursing experience preferred)

• Expertise in emergency nursing workflows and ED hold management
• Acuity assessment and patient prioritization
• Strong clinical judgment in triage and short-term inpatient monitoring
• Clear, concise clinical documentation and handoff communication
• Ability to work effectively in high-paced, collaborative environments
• Competency with specialty skill checklists and facility-specific protocols
