Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide skilled respiratory care to patients with compassion and clinical accuracy
- Perform ventilator management, airway care, and respiratory assessments
- Administer respiratory treatments and monitor patient responses
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and update care plans
- Document patient care and interventions thoroughly and accurately in the chart
- Participate in orientation and training to maintain clinical competencies
Qualifications
- Active Respiratory Therapist license in Missouri (or ability to obtain)
- CRT or RRT credential preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced certifications like ACLS encouraged
- Comfort working in a fast-paced hospital setting and adapting to variable schedules
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
Education
- Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent from an accredited program
- Completion of required clinical training and relevant certifications
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of respiratory therapy procedures and equipment
- Experience with ventilators, oxygen delivery systems, and airway management
- Ability to interpret arterial blood gases and respiratory assessments
- Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate clinical documentation
- Patient-centered care focus and effective teamwork skills
