Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical ventilators and provide high-degree ventilator support for acute patients
• Deliver non-invasive ventilation care using BiPAP and CPAP devices
• Perform airway clearance therapies (HHN) and other respiratory interventions
• Respond to emergency department and inpatient respiratory needs with calm, skilled action
• Safely transport patients to tertiary care centers when higher-level care is required
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement respiratory care plans
• Maintain accurate documentation, complete required checklists, and ensure timely license verification
• Mentor and communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff to improve outcomes

Qualifications

• Active NBRC credential (RRT or CRT accepted)
• Active American Heart Association BLS (required)
• NH RCP licensure required — temporary NH RCP application accepted at time of offer (7–14 day turnaround)
• Minimum 3 years of current acute care respiratory experience (required)
• Demonstrated proficiency with mechanical ventilator management
• Experience with HHN, BiPAP and CPAP (required)
• One supervisory signed reference from the past year (required)
• Complete respiratory therapist skills checklist and current license/cert documents at time of submission
• Permanent address included in submission and RTO provided with application

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of ventilator management and settings
• Skill with non-invasive ventilation strategies (BiPAP/CPAP)
• Experience in ED and inpatient respiratory care and patient assessment
• Competence in airway clearance techniques (HHN) and emergency response
• Ability to safely manage patient transport to tertiary centers
• Proficient documentation and credentialing workflow experience
• Comfort working in a small critical access hospital environment with varied caseloads
