Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage telemetry patients, interpreting cardiac rhythms and trends
• Monitor vital signs and cardiac telemetry closely to detect changes promptly
• Administer medications and treatments safely, following facility protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate timely patient care
• Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the EHR
• Provide patient and family education about condition, medications, and follow-up
• Respond quickly to acute events and escalate concerns to providers as needed
• Advocate for patient comfort, safety, and high-quality clinical care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California required
• Telemetry experience or recent training in cardiac monitoring preferred
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS preferred
• Comfort with 12-hour overnight shifts and fast-paced telemetry units
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility orientation requirements

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in cardiac rhythm recognition and telemetry alarm management
• Skilled in IV medication administration and infusion safety
• Familiarity with electronic health record documentation
• Excellent patient assessment and critical thinking abilities
• Team-oriented communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary staff
• Time management and prioritization in high-acuity situations
