Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care for Med/Surg and Telemetry patients on a transplant/stepdown unit
• Manage and monitor telemetry and infusions such as heparin drips, ensuring safe titration and documentation
• Administer and monitor patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) and respond to changes in patient condition
• Perform wound and drain care including wound vacs, chest tubes, and JP drain management
• Document thoroughly and accurately in the Meditech EMR to support continuity of care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, pharmacists, and therapists to optimize patient outcomes
• Serve as a reliable, adaptable clinician in a fast-paced environment while maintaining patient ratios and safety

Qualifications

• Active RN license (state of practice or compact eligible) — must be able to practice in Colorado
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience, with strong Med/Surg/Telemetry background
• Demonstrated experience managing heparin drips and PCA pumps
• Experience with wound and drain care (wound vacs, chest tubes, JP drains)
• Familiarity with Meditech or similar EMR systems
• Current BLS required; ACLS or other advanced certifications preferred or can be obtained

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid assessment and telemetry-monitoring skills
• Comfort with titratable infusions and pump management
• Skilled in wound/drain care and postoperative transplant patient needs
• Proficiency with Meditech EMR workflows and documentation
• Strong communication, teamwork, and time-management skills
• Reliable, adaptable, and able to multitask in a fast-paced unit
