Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor surgical patients in the pre-operative area to ensure readiness for procedures
• Provide vigilant post-anesthesia care and recovery monitoring in the PACU to promote safe transitions
• Administer medications and manage pain control while observing for adverse effects
• Document care accurately and efficiently using EPIC Op-time charting
• Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesiologists and the perioperative team to support smooth case flow
• Educate patients and families about post-op expectations and discharge instructions
• Maintain high standards of patient safety, infection control and perioperative best practices

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license (required)
• Previous Critical Care experience (required)
• Prior hospital Pre-op and PACU experience (required)
• Experience with EPIC Op-time charting (required)
• Comfort working 10-hour day shifts with variable start times
• BLS and ACLS certifications preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong post-anesthesia assessment and recovery skills
• Proficiency in EPIC Op-time documentation and electronic charting
• Comfort with hemodynamic monitoring and airway/respiratory support
• Skilled in IV medication administration and titration
• Excellent communication and teamwork with perioperative staff
• Ability to prioritize, triage and respond quickly in a fast-paced surgical environment
