Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU with attention to detail
• Deliver evidence-based nursing care, including medication administration and ventilator support as appropriate
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary team members to create and execute patient care plans
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns when needed
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes clearly and timely
• Provide compassionate support and education to families during stressful moments

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Massachusetts or compact license eligibility
• Experience in pediatric critical care or PICU preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required; PALS highly recommended
• Ability to complete facility orientation and required onboarding
• Immunizations and background checks in accordance with facility policy

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of pediatric critical care principles and age-specific interventions
• Familiarity with ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and infusion therapy
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Comfortable working in high-acuity situations with calm, clear communication
• Ability to document accurately in electronic medical records and follow unit protocols
• Compassionate family-centered care approach
