Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts across all days of the week. Common shift times: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; also partial shifts include 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM, 7:00 PM - 11:00 PM. Every other weekend required; self-schedule with night-shift opportunities available.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care for adult PCU, Oncology and MedSurg patients, ensuring safety and dignity
• Administer and titrate IV medications and drips (including insulin and cardizem) according to protocols
• Support chemotherapy administration when certified, and follow chemo safety policies when applicable
• Monitor hemodynamics and manage special monitoring devices such as CVP, A-line, Swan and EV-1000
• Operate specialty equipment including ventilators and Alaris IV pumps; escalate concerns appropriately
• Document accurately and efficiently in EPIC to ensure continuity of care
• Perform patient-centered hourly rounding and contribute to exceptional patient experience
• Float to same-level PCU/MedSurg units as needed and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members
• Complete orientation activities and demonstrate skills competency (open-book exam during orientation with a 90% pass requirement)

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing (state license or compact as applicable)
• ACLS and BLS (AHA) required at time of submission
• NIHSS certification required
• ONS/ONCC required or strongly preferred depending on unit needs; chemotherapy certification preferred but not required
• Minimum clinical experience: 1 year in acute care/PCU or oncology (posting also lists 2 years as preferred in some sections)
• Comfort with titratable drips, hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator-supported patients
• Driver's license required at submittal due to radius rule and verification
• Ability to pass orientation skills validation (90% on open-book skills exam) and adhere to facility policies (for example, artificial nails prohibited in patient care areas)

Education

• Active RN license required
• BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient charting and navigation in EPIC
• Experience with Alaris IV pump systems
• Competence in hemodynamic monitoring: CVP, arterial lines, Swan-Ganz, EV-1000
• Ventilator management basics and critical care observation
• Chemotherapy familiarity and safe medication handling practices
• Comfort titrating drips such as insulin and cardizem and administering heparin and protonix
• Safe patient handling with Lyko lifts and other lift equipment
• Strong teamwork, communication and hourly rounding practices
• Ability to function in a mixed unit with PCU, MedSurg and oncology patient mixes and assigned ratios
