Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to progressive care/telemetry patients with cardiovascular and related conditions
• Monitor telemetry and recognize/respond to arrhythmias and hemodynamic changes promptly
• Administer and titrate cardiac IV medications (e.g., nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine) with strong attention to detail
• Perform bedside procedures as needed, including bedside cardioversion
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient plans of care
• Document care accurately in the Cerner EMR and communicate clear handoffs during shift changes
• Act as a compassionate patient and family educator, explaining treatments and supporting recovery

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (North Carolina or compact) required
• Minimum 2 years of recent progressive care/telemetry experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Comfortable and experienced with titratable cardiac IV medications and drips
• Experience with Cerner (EMR) preferred/required
• Preferred: experience with prostacyclins (Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin) and relief charge experience
• Strong teamwork, flexibility, and excellent communication skills

Education

• Active RN license in North Carolina (or eligible for compact licensure)
• Associate degree in Nursing or BSN — BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of cardiac rhythms
• IV medication titration and vasoactive medication management
• Cardiac patient care including CHF, MI, post-cath/post-stent, pacer/ICD care
• Bedside cardioversion and emergency cardiac interventions
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic medical record
• Familiarity with bedside equipment: Zoll monitors, Baxter pumps, bladder scanners, lifts
