Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate post-anesthesia care for pediatric patients in PACU
Monitor vital signs and clinical status, escalating concerns promptly
Collaborate closely with anesthesia, surgical, and perioperative teams for safe handoffs
Document recovery progress and communicate clear discharge instructions to families
Maintain a calm, reassuring environment for children and their caregivers
Participate in orientation and support incoming staff to maintain high standards

Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN), aligned with the role title
Experience or interest in PACU and pediatric nursing
Comfort working in a perioperative/post-anesthesia environment
Ability to participate in required orientation and training

Knowledge & Skills

Pediatric post-anesthesia care principles
PACU monitoring and recovery protocols
Clear communication with families and multidisciplinary teams
Accurate clinical documentation and handoff practices
Calm decision making in a fast-paced recovery setting
