Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive phone triage and clinical assessment for orthopedic patients, guiding care with clarity and compassion
• Administer injections and perform blood draws safely and confidently
• Provide pre-op and post-op nursing care and education to help patients recover and return to activity
• Document encounters accurately in the EMR and coordinate follow-up care with the rehab team
• Manage acute orthopedic presentations such as fractures, sprains, tendon/ligament injuries, and nerve compressions
• Collaborate with surgeons, therapists, and clinic staff to develop individualized care plans
• Work independently in a small, rural clinic setting and hit the ground running
• Triage phone calls efficiently to route patients to the appropriate level of care and reduce unnecessary ED visits

Qualifications

• Active New Hampshire RN license required at profile upload (Compact allowed) — facility will not pend license
• American Heart Association BLS (AHA) certification required and must be uploaded
• Minimum 3+ years current orthopedic clinic or primary care experience
• Minimum 2+ years current triage experience with strong emphasis on phone triage
• Comfortable and experienced giving injections and drawing blood (required)
• Adult outpatient clinic experience required
• Own reliable vehicle for assignment and permanent address included in profile
• Previous travel experience and rural/small facility experience highly preferred

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
• Active RN license (New Hampshire) required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong phone triage skills and clinical decision-making over the phone
• Orthopedic assessment skills for fractures, sprains, tendon/ligament injuries, arthritis and post-op care
• Proficiency with ATHENA EMR highly preferred
• Injection techniques (steroid/PRP) and phlebotomy skills
• Excellent patient education and care planning abilities
• Ability to work independently in a small unit and manage a varied outpatient caseload
• Good communication skills and voicemail/contact availability for facility outreach
