Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care for MST-level patients during the night shift
• Monitor telemetry and recognize changes in patient status early
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document them in the EHR
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and adjust patient care plans
• Educate patients and families with clarity and empathy about care and discharge plans
• Respond rapidly to emergencies and escalate concerns appropriately
• Maintain accurate, timely charting and handoffs to ensure continuity of care
• Advocate for patient safety and quality improvement on every shift

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• ACLS preferred or willingness to obtain if assigned to higher-acuity telemetry patients
• Experience in medical-surgical and telemetry care preferred
• Comfort and competence working 12-hour night shifts
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• IV therapy, medication administration, and titration familiarity
• Proficient with electronic health record documentation
• Ability to prioritize multiple patients and interventions during busy shifts
• Strong patient education and discharge planning skills
• Teamwork and clear communication with physicians, techs, and ancillary staff
