Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered care for MedSurg, PCU, and telemetry patients
• Perform clinical assessments and continuous patient monitoring using telemetry
• Serve as charge nurse when assigned, coordinating care and guiding the team
• Float to other units as needed to support patient care and unit staffing
• Document care accurately and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team
• Respond to changes in patient condition promptly and initiate appropriate interventions

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Vermont or ability to obtain state licensure
• Previous MedSurg, PCU, or telemetry nursing experience, preferably on night shift
• Comfortable working independently and performing charge nurse duties
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, patient monitoring, and critical thinking skills
• Willingness to float to other units and work every other weekend rotation

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
• BSN preferred but not required when combined with relevant experience

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in patient monitoring and telemetry interpretation
• Solid clinical assessment and documentation skills
• Experience in MedSurg and progressive care (PCU) environments
• Ability to lead a team during a shift and manage charge responsibilities
• Comfortable working independently and adapting to changing unit needs
• Familiarity with electronic health records and standard nursing workflows
