Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care across MedSurg Telemetry and PCU units
• Interpret cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to dysrhythmias
• Titrate vasoactive and other common drips (Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Insulin) safely and per protocol
• Care for post-procedural cardiac patients including post-cath and post-CABG recovery
• Collaborate with monitor techs, respiratory therapists and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
• Utilize CPAP/BiPAP and Heated High Flow equipment as indicated and monitor patient response
• Document thoroughly and accurately in Cerner charting system
• Float between campuses and units as assigned, including inpatient holds in the ED

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Arizona) required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years nursing experience overall; at least 1 year in a PCU/stepdown or MedSurg Telemetry setting
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam with a score of 80% or higher within two attempts prior to contract start
• Comfortable titrating common drips and managing post-cardiac and post-op patients
• Must comply with radius rule (50 miles) and may not have been employed FT/PT/PRN with CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity facilities within the past 12 months

Education

• Active RN licensure; BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong cardiac rhythm interpretation and dysrhythmia recognition
• Experience with drip titration and vasoactive medication management
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic charting
• Familiarity with PCU/stepdown and MedSurg telemetry patient populations (post-MI, post-cath, CABG care)
• Ability to collaborate with monitor techs and utilize respiratory equipment (CPAP, BiPAP, Heated High Flow)
• Comfort working in a float-pool environment across multiple units and campuses
