Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, family-centered nursing care to pediatric Med/Surg patients
• Perform assessments, monitor patient status, and respond to changes promptly
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
• Educate patients and families about care plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up
• Participate in orientation and training to maintain unit standards and best practices

Qualifications

• Current active Registered Nurse (RN) license (eligible to practice in Missouri)
• Experience or training in medical-surgical nursing and pediatric care
• Comfort working with pediatric populations and family-centered care approaches
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; pediatric-focused certifications a plus
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and teamwork skills

Education

• Nursing degree required (ADN or BSN). BSN preferred where available.

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of pediatric assessment techniques and growth/development considerations
• Skill in medication administration, IV therapy, and post-op/Med/Surg care
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and respond quickly in a dynamic clinical setting
• Compassionate communication with kids and their families, and strong teamwork
