Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a Med/Surg unit
• Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor changes in condition
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document accurately
• Coordinate care with physicians, therapists and the interdisciplinary team
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments and discharge plans
• Maintain a safe environment by following infection control and safety protocols
• Accurately document care in the patient record and communicate handoffs clearly

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Louisiana) or appropriate multistate/compact licensure as applicable
• Experience in Medical-Surgical nursing (Med/Surg) — comfort caring for adult patients with varied medical needs
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications encouraged
• Strong critical thinking, clinical assessment and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary care team

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid Med/Surg clinical assessment and patient monitoring skills
• Medication administration and IV therapy competency
• Accurate documentation and charting practices
• Effective communication and teamwork in fast-paced clinical settings
• Prioritization and time management during 12+ hour shifts
