Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality med/surg nursing care to adult patients
• Perform thorough patient assessments and develop/implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Monitor patient status, recognize changes, and escalate concerns promptly
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate optimal patient care
• Document patient care in the electronic medical record clearly and promptly
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning
• Contribute to a positive unit culture by mentoring peers and supporting team goals

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Hawaii or eligibility to obtain one
• Clinical experience in medical-surgical nursing (experience level discussed during interview)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS and other certifications encouraged
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced unit
• Ability to safely manage 12.5-hour shifts and maintain patient-focused care

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
• BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of medical-surgical nursing principles and interventions
• Proficiency with medication administration and IV therapy
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation practices
• Effective patient assessment, monitoring, and triage skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple patients safely
• Teamwork, flexibility, and a patient-centered mindset
