Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered critical care for adult ICU patients
• Assess, monitor and respond to changes in patient condition with clinical judgment
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans
• Document patient care and clinical observations clearly and timely
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
• Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement on the unit

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or compact RN license
• Minimum ICU clinical experience (recent ICU experience preferred)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) strongly preferred
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
• Ability to work 12-hour clinical shifts in a fast-paced ICU environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Completion of accredited nursing program and active RN licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of critical care principles and ICU nursing protocols
• Experience with ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
• Proficiency in assessing unstable patients and initiating appropriate interventions
• Clear, compassionate communication with patients, families, and care teams
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively during high-acuity situations
