Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate critical care for ICU patients with attention to detail
• Assess, monitor and document patient condition and respond quickly to changes
• Operate and manage advanced critical care equipment, including ventilators and hemodynamic monitors
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans and discharge needs in a clear, kind way
• Participate in unit quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and safety
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license or ability to obtain licensure in Louisiana
• Experience in ICU nursing or critical care (ICU Nursing listed as core skill)
• BLS required; ACLS and other critical care certifications preferred
• Comfortable with ventilator management, vasoactive drips, and advanced monitoring
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care assessment and prioritization
• Ventilator management and respiratory support knowledge
• Cardiac monitoring and interpretation
• IV/infusion therapy and titratable medication administration
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and clinical documentation
• Calm, clear decision-making under pressure and excellent teamwork
