Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based critical care nursing for adult ICU patients
• Continuously assess patient status and respond quickly to changes in condition
• Manage advanced life support equipment including ventilators and hemodynamic monitors
• Administer medications safely, including titrated drips and complex regimens
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and execute patient care plans
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses clearly and timely
• Educate patients and families with empathy and clear communication during stressful times
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Louisiana (or compact license if applicable)
• BLS required; ACLS required or obtained upon hire per facility policy
• Critical care certification (CCRN) preferred but not mandatory
• Previous ICU or critical care experience preferred
• Strong clinical judgment, ability to prioritize, and excellent teamwork skills
• Up-to-date immunizations and compliance with facility onboarding requirements

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Advanced patient assessment and monitoring in an ICU setting
• Ventilator management and weaning principles
• Hemodynamic monitoring and titration of vasoactive medications
• Proficiency with IV therapy, central lines, and other critical care procedures
• Effective, compassionate communication with patients, families, and care teams
• Familiarity with infection control, sepsis protocols, and ICU best practices
