Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate critical care to adult ICU patients
• Continuously assess and monitor patient status using advanced ICU equipment
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the multidisciplinary team to create and execute care plans
• Document patient care, assessments, and interventions in the clinical record with attention to detail
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
• Educate patients and families, offering clear explanations and emotional support during critical moments

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Hawaii) or eligible to obtain state licensure
• ICU experience required (critical care experience preferred)
• Current BLS; ACLS strongly preferred or willingness to obtain
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced ICU
• Comfortable with ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and other ICU technologies

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care nursing principles and best practices
• Cardiac and respiratory monitoring, ventilator basics
• Medication administration and titration in ICU settings
• Strong assessment skills and rapid recognition of patient deterioration
• Excellent communication and teamwork across disciplines
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate documentation
