Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based critical care to adult ICU patients with compassion and clinical precision
• Assess, monitor, and document patient status including hemodynamics, ventilator settings, and response to therapies
• Administer medications and IV therapies safely and accurately, following hospital protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and adjust care plans
• Educate patients and families on condition, treatment plans, and post-discharge needs in a clear and supportive way
• Participate in unit quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with regulatory standards

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligible for licensure in Hawaii
• Critical care/ICU clinical experience preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Strong assessment skills, critical thinking, and ability to work in a fast-paced ICU environment
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred where available

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care patient assessment and monitoring
• Ventilator management basics and familiarity with respiratory support
• Advanced IV medication administration and titration
• Electronic medical record charting and documentation
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and respond quickly in emergent situations
• Teamwork, clear communication, and patient/family-centered care
