Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons intraoperatively as a skilled Registered Nurse First Assistant, enhancing patient outcomes
• Provide perioperative nursing care in the operating room, ensuring aseptic technique and instrument readiness
• Collaborate with the surgical team to anticipate needs and streamline procedures
• Document perioperative care accurately in the charting system (Cerner)
• Maintain required certifications and follow facility policies to keep the OR safe and compliant
• Participate in patient handoffs and contribute to a culture of patient-centered care

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the applicable state (required)
• Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA) certificate (required)
• ACLS and BLS (AHA) certifications (required)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience (as listed)
• Perioperative/Operating Room (OR) experience preferred
• Familiarity with Cerner charting system is a plus
• BSN not required for this role

Education

• Active RN license (required)
• BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Operating Room (OR) procedures and perioperative nursing best practices
• RNFA techniques and intraoperative assistance
• ACLS and BLS emergency response protocols
• Charting and documentation using Cerner
• Acute care assessment and patient safety practices
• Strong communication and teamwork in high-pressure surgical environments
