Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients in the emergency department quickly and compassionately
• Provide evidence-based nursing care and monitor patient status throughout the shift
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the ED team to coordinate timely care
• Administer medications and treatments safely while documenting accurately in the medical record
• Perform thorough patient education and discharge planning to support positive outcomes
• Respond to emergency situations with calm, decisive critical thinking and skilled interventions
• Maintain a safe, organized workspace and adhere to infection control and quality standards

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (NH) or eligibility for licensure in New Hampshire
• Prior ED/ER nursing experience preferred
• Current BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and required pre-employment screening
• Strong clinical assessment skills, sound judgment, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and emergency nursing assessments
• Airway management and basic emergency interventions
• Familiarity with ED workflows, rapid patient turnover, and high-acuity care
• Proficiency with electronic health records and accurate documentation
• Strong prioritization, multitasking, and critical thinking abilities
• Compassionate patient- and family-centered communication
