Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care in the Emergency Department setting
• Triage patients efficiently and prioritize care based on clinical need
• Perform timely assessments, interventions, and documentation using the unit EHR
• Administer medications and treatments safely according to orders and protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and follow-up plans
• Respond calmly and effectively to urgent and emergent situations

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Louisiana
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Prior Emergency Department experience preferred; new grads with strong clinical skills are welcome to apply
• Strong assessment, IV, and triage skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Completion of nursing program accredited by appropriate nursing board

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency triage and rapid patient assessment
• Wound care, IV insertion, and medication administration
• Familiarity with electronic health record documentation
• Ability to manage multiple acute patients and prioritize workload
• Calm decision-making in high-pressure situations
• Patient and family education with clear, compassionate communication
