Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to emergency department patients
• Rapidly assess, triage and prioritize patients based on acuity and clinical need
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient care plans
• Administer medications, perform procedures and monitor patient responses with attention to safety
• Document assessments, interventions and patient outcomes accurately in the health record
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments and discharge plans with clarity and empathy
• Respond quickly and effectively in trauma and critical situations, demonstrating calm leadership

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Hawaii or eligibility to obtain one
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Prior emergency department experience preferred; strong assessment and triage skills
• Current clinical competencies relevant to ED practice and ability to function in a fast-paced environment
• Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate across a multidisciplinary team

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong skills in rapid patient assessment and triage
• Comfort managing trauma, medical emergencies and unstable patients
• Experience with electronic health records and accurate clinical documentation
• Ability to prioritize multiple patients and tasks under pressure
• Good clinical judgment, adaptability and strong teamwork skills
