Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide timely, high-quality emergency nursing care to patients across the lifespan
• Rapidly assess and triage patients to prioritize care in a high-acuity environment
• Initiate and manage emergency interventions, including medication administration and advanced life support measures
• Collaborate closely with physicians, techs, and other allied staff to coordinate patient flow and disposition
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and responses clearly and accurately
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and follow-up care with compassion
• Contribute to a culture of safety by following protocols, reporting concerns, and participating in quality improvement

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Hawaii or ability to obtain Hawaii RN licensure
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred or willing to obtain
• Previous Emergency Department (ED/ER) experience preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills in fast-paced settings
• Ability to work 12.5-hour shift patterns and adapt to rotating schedules
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills with patients and multidisciplinary teams

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in triage, rapid assessment, and emergency interventions
• Proficient with IV therapy, medication administration, and wound care
• Familiarity with ED documentation systems and accurate charting practices
• Able to prioritize multiple patients and manage high-acuity caseloads
• Calm under pressure with strong situational awareness and decision-making
• Customer-service minded when interacting with patients and families
