Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to adults in behavioral health settings
• Perform thorough nursing assessments and document changes in patient status clearly and promptly
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Use therapeutic communication and de-escalation techniques to maintain a safe environment
• Administer medications and treatments according to orders and facility policies
• Educate patients and families on coping strategies, discharge plans, and community resources
• Participate in shift handoffs and ensure continuity of care through accurate documentation

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (New Hampshire licensure or multistate as applicable)
• Experience or strong interest in behavioral health services (BHS)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS/psychiatric certifications a plus
• Ability to pass required background checks and facility orientation
• Strong communication, teamwork, and crisis-intervention skills
• Per diem availability and flexibility to work varied shifts

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of behavioral health nursing principles and safety protocols
• Skill in therapeutic communication and de-escalation strategies
• Competence in medication administration and documentation
• Ability to assess mental status and manage acute behavioral health needs
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate clinical charting
• Teamwork, adaptability, and strong prioritization in a fast-paced setting
