Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality CT exams (with and without power contrast injections) using proper positioning and radiographic technique
• Prepare and monitor patients safely — transport, transfer, position, and evaluate mental/physical condition to prevent hazards
• Start IVs and administer contrast media appropriately, following protocols and patient-safety guidelines
• Adjust technical settings (kVp, mA, time, distance) and use automatic exposure control to optimize image quality
• Accurately document patient and imaging information in HIS/RIS and archive studies in PACS
• Assist physicians during exams and use sterile techniques where required
• Communicate clearly using SBAR and AIDET and protect patient confidentiality under HIPAA
• Serve as a mentor to radiology students and contribute to team professional development

Qualifications

• Washington State Radiologic Technologist Certification (required)
• Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists — RT(R) (CT) required
• Complete Samaritan CT modality orientation (as provided by the employer)
• Basic Life Support (Healthcare Provider) — to be completed within three (3) months of hire
• Minimum of two (2) years hospital setting experience preferred
• Ability to perform patient handling and occasional heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with CT scanning protocols and contrast administration
• Skilled in patient positioning and immobilization for diagnostic quality images
• Experienced with PACS, HIS/RIS workflows and accurate archiving/documentation
• Knowledge of radiographic technical factors, automatic exposure control, and gantry/table positioning
• Strong communication skills (SBAR, AIDET) and commitment to patient safety and HIPAA
• Comfortable mentoring students and participating in professional development
