Roles & Responsibilities

• Administer radiation therapies safely and accurately as prescribed by physicians, ensuring each patient receives compassionate, high-quality care.
• Operate and perform routine checks on linear accelerators, including tomotherapy equipment, to deliver precise treatments.
• Perform CT simulation and treatment setup to ensure accurate patient positioning and reproducible treatment delivery.
• Deliver high dose rate brachytherapy, low dose rate procedures as needed, stereotactic radiosurgery, and total body irradiation under physician direction.
• Provide intensive patient monitoring, including sedation and analgesia care when required, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition.
• Collaborate with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, nurses, and the multidisciplinary team to follow treatment plans and optimize patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate treatment records and documentation in accordance with department policies and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in quality assurance, safety protocols, and equipment QA to maintain ACR accreditation and high standards of care.
• Support inpatient and ambulatory patients with empathy, focusing on dignity and comfort throughout treatment.

Qualifications

• Current Hawaii State Radiation Therapist license required.
• Current CPR certification at Healthcare Professional level required.
• Experience as a Radiation Therapist preferred.
• Comfortable working with linear accelerators, CT simulation, brachytherapy units, and stereotactic systems.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, lifting up to 25 pounds, and prolonged repetitive motions as described in the job posting.

Education

• Current Hawaii State Radiation Therapist license (explicit requirement)
• CPR (Healthcare Professional) certification (explicit requirement)
