Medical Assistant
Location: St. Louis, MO
Start Date: 04-29-2026
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Per diem 4-hour shifts, day assignments (exact start/end times vary by assignment; common windows include 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM or 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM), days as needed; orientation required
Candidate Pay Rate: $25 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Greet and prepare patients for appointments with warmth and professionalism
- Obtain and document vital signs and patient histories accurately
- Prepare exam rooms, instruments, and supplies for clinical staff
- Assist clinicians during exams and minor procedures as needed
- Document clinical information in the electronic medical record in a timely manner
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-stocked clinical environment
- Participate in orientation and training to maintain skills and compliance
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent preferred; relevant clinical training welcomed
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Comfortable with patient-facing clinical tasks and documentation
- Professional communication skills and a patient-centered attitude
- Prior ambulatory or clinic experience is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant certificate or diploma preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in taking and recording vital signs accurately
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and basic documentation
- Strong infection control and clinical safety practices
- Good organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a clinical setting
- Team-oriented mindset and strong patient communication skills
