Shift Type: Monday-Friday, Day shifts (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM; 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM; or 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM) plus on-call nights 5:30 PM - 7:00 AM (1–2 nights per week) and weekend on-call (Friday 5:30 PM through Monday 7:00 AM) on a 1-in-3 weekends rotation; includes holiday on-call

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform and interpret blood bank testing accurately to support patient transfusion needs
• Independently perform manual differentials and hematology testing with attention to detail
• Collect patient specimens through phlebotomy and ensure proper labeling and handling
• Run and troubleshoot chemistry, coagulation and urinalysis assays as a generalist
• Document results and maintain quality assurance using the Meditech LIS
• Respond to on-call notifications within the required 20-minute response window
• Work autonomously in a Critical Access lab environment and escalate issues appropriately
• Complete department orientation and onboard quickly to cover multiple lab areas

Qualifications

• Certified MLT or MLS via AMT or ASCP (MLT or MLS acceptable)
• BLS certification required
• MLT candidates: minimum 3+ years blood bank experience and 2+ years performing manual differentials
• MT candidates: minimum 1+ year blood bank experience and 1+ year performing manual differentials
• At least 1 year of prior travel assignment experience
• Experience as a generalist covering hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, chemistry and blood bank
• Phlebotomy experience and the ability to work independently without on-shift lab supervision
• Willingness to take on on-call nights, weekends and holiday coverage

Education

• MLT or MLS via AMT or ASCP required
• BLS certification required
