Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate basic nursing care and assist residents with activities of daily living
- Support patient mobility and maintain a safe environment to prevent falls and injuries
- Monitor and record vital signs and report notable changes to the care team
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of resident care and interventions
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver person-centered care
- Follow infection control procedures and facility protocols to protect residents and staff
- Participate in orientation and ongoing training to stay current with best practices
Qualifications
- Current LNA certification (state-approved) — must be valid for practice
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or required per facility policy
- Comfortable assisting with transfers, ADLs, and basic patient care tasks
- Reliable, compassionate, and able to work as part of a collaborative care team
- Willingness to complete facility orientation prior to assignment
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of a state-approved LNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for resident-centered care
- Knowledge of basic nursing assistant duties, ADLs, and safe patient handling
- Familiarity with infection control and standard precautions
- Documentation skills and attention to detail
- Ability to follow care plans and escalate changes in condition appropriately
- Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
