Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate bedside nursing care and daily assessments for assigned residents
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and document per facility policy
- Collaborate with the care team to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Monitor patient status, report changes promptly, and escalate concerns when needed
- Support residents with activities of daily living while promoting independence and dignity
- Maintain clear, professional documentation and communicate effectively with families
Qualifications
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license — must hold or be eligible for Maine licensure
- Valid BLS/CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar preferred
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and meet facility immunization requirements
- Strong communication skills and commitment to resident-centered care
Education
- LPN diploma or certificate from an accredited program
- High school diploma or GED
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and accurate charting
- Basic wound care and infection control practices
- Patient assessment and vital sign monitoring
- Care planning and interdisciplinary teamwork
- Time management and prioritization during overnight shifts
- Compassionate patient and family communication
