Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care to assigned residents and ensure dignity and safety
• Administer medications and treatments according to facility policy and physician orders
• Assess and monitor patient status, documenting changes and communicating concerns promptly
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families about care plans, medications, and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic charting and complete required documentation
• Follow infection control standards and facility safety protocols at all times
• Support admissions, transfers, and discharges as needed to ensure smooth operations

Qualifications

• Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license — required (New Mexico licensure preferred)
• Completion of an accredited practical nursing program (LPN/LVN)
• Current BLS/CPR certification (or ability to obtain promptly)
• Comfortable working 12+ hour day shifts (7:00 AM–7:30 PM) on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays
• Local candidates only (position is local-only)
• Available for a 13-week contract assignment (starts 2026-04-06 and ends 2026-06-29)

Education

• Graduate of an accredited LPN program
• High school diploma or GED

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in medication administration and bedside nursing procedures
• Strong assessment and clinical observation skills
• Experience with documentation and electronic medical records
• Good communication and teamwork abilities
• Time management and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced setting
• Basic wound care and vital sign monitoring
