Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor critically ill patients in the ICU, using sound clinical judgment and compassion
• Administer medications and therapies safely and accurately while adhering to protocols
• Operate and troubleshoot critical care equipment, including ventilators and hemodynamic monitors
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
• Document patient status, interventions and changes in condition thoroughly and promptly
• Provide patient- and family-centered education and emotional support during high-stress situations
• Respond promptly to emergencies and participate in resuscitation efforts as required

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Hawaii (or compact license where applicable)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required or willing to obtain
• ICU/critical care experience preferred (experience with ventilator care, titratable drips, and IV infusions is a plus)
• Strong critical thinking skills, effective communication, and ability to work in a fast-paced team environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care assessment and trend recognition
• Ventilator management and respiratory support fundamentals
• Cardiac rhythm interpretation and hemodynamic monitoring
• Safe IV medication administration and titration of vasoactive drips
• Effective interdisciplinary communication and teamwork
• Accurate and timely clinical documentation
