Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Support safe mobility and transfer techniques to keep residents secure and comfortable
• Monitor and report changes in residents' condition to nursing staff promptly
• Assist with mealtime setup and feeding support while respecting residents' preferences
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and observations
• Build trusting relationships with residents and families through respectful, person-centered care
• Help maintain a clean, safe environment by following infection control and facility policies
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to contribute to individualized care plans

Qualifications

• Active GNA certification or equivalent state nursing assistant certification
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening per facility policy
• Demonstrated ability to work 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM shifts when scheduled
• Compassionate approach and experience working with older adults or in long-term care settings preferred
• Up-to-date immunizations per facility requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Completion of a state-approved nursing assistant program and GNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of activities of daily living support and safe transfer techniques
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with nurses, therapists, and families
• Basic observation skills to notice changes in condition and report appropriately
• Familiarity with documentation practices in clinical settings
• Ability to follow care plans and infection control protocols consistently
• Empathy and patience when working with geriatric populations, including dementia care techniques
