Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy interventions under the supervision of an OTR
• Collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team to set and achieve functional goals
• Document progress clearly and timely in patient records
• Use clinical reasoning to adapt activities and equipment to maximize independence
• Educate patients and caregivers on strategies to carry over skills at home
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to high-quality care planning

Qualifications

• Active COTA credential in the state of California (or eligibility to obtain one)
• Willingness to work a 13-week contract with a guaranteed 30-hour workweek
• Current BLS/CPR certification as required by facility
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for patient- and team-centered care
• Prior experience in outpatient, inpatient rehab, or related settings preferred

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program; COTA credential required

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in therapeutic activity grading and adaptive equipment recommendations
• Knowledge of standardized assessments and outcome measurement
• Ability to develop patient-centered treatment plans and document progress
• Comfortable working within interdisciplinary teams and adjusting care plans
• Competent with electronic health record documentation
