Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to residents, assisting with ADLs such as bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to nursing leadership
• Assist with safe transfers and use of equipment to maintain resident safety
• Document care accurately and timely in the facility records
• Support a warm, dignified environment by engaging residents respectfully and encouraging social interaction
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver person-centered care

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification in Connecticut (state registry required)
• Valid CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain if required
• Prior experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred but new grads with strong skills are welcome
• Ability to pass background check and required health screenings/immunizations
• Strong communication skills and a resident-first attitude
• Ability to perform physical aspects of the role (lifting, standing, assisting residents)

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an approved CNA training program and current state certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic nursing assistant duties and best practices in long-term care
• Skills in safe resident handling and infection control
• Familiarity with documentation standards and attention to detail
• Ability to work as part of a care team and follow care plans
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
