Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents, supporting activities of daily living
- Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and feeding in a respectful manner
- Monitor and record resident vital signs and report changes to nursing staff promptly
- Help maintain a safe, clean and comfortable environment for residents
- Support social and emotional needs by engaging residents in conversation and activities
- Collaborate with the care team to follow care plans and ensure continuity of care
Qualifications
- Active CNA certification (state-required) — current and in good standing
- Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings (TB, immunizations)
- Previous experience in long-term care or similar setting preferred but new grads welcome
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
- Basic ability to use electronic charting or willingness to learn
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to providing respectful resident care
Education
- CNA certification or state-equivalent completion of a nursing assistant program
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic clinical observations
- Comfortable with safe resident handling and infection control practices
- Ability to take and document vital signs and comfort measures accurately
- Good interpersonal skills for communicating with residents, families and the care team
- Time management and organizational skills to support shift workflows
