Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents with dignity and respect
- Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Monitor resident condition and report changes promptly to the nursing team
- Support safe and comfortable environments by following infection control and safety protocols
- Document care accurately and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team
- Build trusting relationships with residents and families to enhance quality of life
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification valid in Connecticut
- Completed an accredited CNA training program
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass required background checks and drug screening
- Compassionate demeanor, strong communication skills, and teamwork mindset
- Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred but not required
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited CNA program and state certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Familiarity with activities of daily living (ADL) support
- Basic patient observation and vital signs monitoring
- Knowledge of infection control and safe resident handling
- Good documentation and communication skills
- Ability to follow care plans and directions from licensed nurses
