Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with daily living activities
• Perform vital sign checks, observe changes in condition, and report findings to nursing staff
• Assist with mobility, transfers, and safe patient handling to promote independence
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of resident care and activities
• Support personal hygiene needs including bathing, dressing, and toileting with dignity
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to ensure coordinated care
• Follow infection control protocols and facility policies to keep everyone safe
• Contribute to a positive environment by showing empathy, patience, and professionalism

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification, ideally active in Connecticut or eligible to obtain state reciprocity
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Comfortable assisting with daily living activities and basic clinical tasks
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a patient-centered attitude
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
• Reliable, punctual, and ready to be part of a caring healthcare team

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completed state-approved CNA training program and certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Care of elderly and long-term care residents
• Basic clinical skills: vital signs, ADL assistance, documentation
• Infection control and safe patient handling techniques
• Effective communication with residents and interdisciplinary teams
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
• Empathy, patience, and de-escalation skills when needed
